Entry#4 PC Building 101

Hello, today I'm going to show you step-by-step how to build a PC. There is a common misconception about how to build a PC. Most people think you have to be some kind of tech wizard in order to build a PC, but I'm here to tell you that you don't! All you need for this part is the required computer parts and a screwdriver. That's it! I like to build computers in my free time from time to time. And I'm here to share some of my knowledge with people who don't know how or where to start when building a PC. My goal for this is to ease people into the world of PC building and for everyone to be able to say to their friends and colleagues, "I know how to build a PC." which, in my opinion, sounds pretty smart when you say that. Before we begin, there are a few things you should be aware of: 1.Never disassemble individual components like your motherboard or water cooling fan. 2. Don't plug anything in throughout the building process. 3. This is for building a gaming PC. 4. Ensure that everything is compatible with one another. Finally, static electricity can and will damage your parts. Now that we've got the boring part out of the way, LET'S BUILD!

First, let's make sure you have everything you need. You'll need to have 11 parts:

1. A CPU (central processing unit)

2. Motherboard

3. RAM (Random Access Memory)

4. GPU (graphics processing unit)

5. Disk storage (SSD, HDD)

6. PSU (power supply unit)

7. Fans

8. additional equipment (mouse, keyboard, monitor)

9. Case

10. Operating system (WIndows10)

11. GPU cooling

Second, let's start with the easy stuff first. Open your case and lay it down for easy access. Then grab your motherboard and place it on top of the box it came in (for no static electricity). Take care of the mother board, as this is where everything will be plugged in. Read the instructions for every part carefully, because some parts may be different than what I am describing. Everything you order will come with its own set of cables and plug-ins, so there is no need to worry about buying that stuff. Now open the square-looking socket, which is usually located in the middle of the mother board. Open the socket with the handle located around the socket. Then grab your CPU and open it. You will notice a tiny arrow located in one of the corners of the CPU. This is very important. You will also see a similar arrow on the mother board socket where your CPU will go. Make sure that both arrows point in the same direction; otherwise, your CPU will be damaged if they are not. Now just lay it on top of the socket and lock it in with the handle. And done. Now screw the motherboard in from the top left because the I/O will be placed in an open hole behind your PC. Also, if you want your PC to look nice, a tip is to learn cable management. Put all the cables behind the case, away from public view. So no wires are all over your PC, which can damage your PC.

Third, grab the GPU cooling fan and place it on top of the GPU. Read the instructions to know how to properly install it. After that, install fans around your PC. The way I do it is by (imagine your case laying up) 3 fans in front, 1 in the back and 2 on top. Screw on the fans with their dedicated screws. Then after that, you will have wires hanging around that plug into the motherboard. Look for fans 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 and plug them in.

Fourth, get your RAM and simply push it into the RAM slot on your motherboard, which is usually located beside the GPU socket. There will be 4 slots you can put them in. The best way is to put them in slots 2 and 4. Again, look at your instructions to know which one is the correct slot.

Fifth, by this time, your PC should be lying upright.

Sixth, is the power supply put in at the bottom of your PC case where there is an opening/filter for air to be pushed in or out of. Now it might look scary due to all the wires, but let me assure you that it is easy. Some power supplies come with wires already plugged into the power box, some don't. If your power supply doesn't have wires plugged in, refer to your instructions to know where to plug which plug into the corresponding place. Once that is done, make sure the cables are behind viewing eyes (cable management). Now for this part, all you need to do is look for the correct plug to plug into the motherboard with the same plug ins. So basically, match the wires to the same wires on the motherboard. If you are having trouble, look at your motherboard's manual to see the correct name and location of each part for the power supply. Then screw in your power supply. The same goes for your disk storage.

And finally, your GPU This part is simple; simply search for a horizontal slot on your motherboard similar to the RAM slots. and just push it in with the I/O facing the back of the PC. A wire from your power supply will be used to plug into your GPU to power it. (Look at the instructions to see which cable).

And now your PC should look like it's done. All you need to do is plug it in and power it on. And also plug in your monitor, mouse, and keyboard. And from there, is all you. I hope you are happy with this step-by-step guide to building a gaming PC. If you have any questions, comment down below if you need any help. Also, once you start setting up your PC settings, make sure you have Windows installed on a hard drive and just install it on your computer, and then your computer will download it onto itself.

  1. This is a really good and descriptive Pc building Guide. Your Pc rig look really cool. I am a Pc builder myself so I really enjoyed reading with. I was going to make a blog about the same thing but I did not want to copy yours.
